Green Home Energy has always provided excellent service at a fair and reasonable price.

While most other ecoEnergy service providers charge more, we prefer to offer our customers a fair price.

The Initial Assessment ( Pre-Retrofit ) Cost Basics

1. Our base price has always been $299 plus the HST for a typical 2 storey family home ( typically up to 2500 square feet.)
2. A  surcharge may apply if the home is larger, more complex or higher than 2 storeys.
3. If you live more than 50Km from our closest advisor,an additional $25 zone adjustment fee is charged for customers beyond 50Km, but under 75Km.
4. If you live more than 75Km from our closest advisor,an additional $50 zone adjustment fee is charged for customers beyond 75Km, but under 100Km.

Why the Additional Charges?

The most basic and simple explanation is that extra time and effort means a higher cost. When an advisor is evaluating a home that is larger or more complex, the evaluation process takes more time and effort, and therefore has more cost and  time associated with the whole process.

Examples of the types of homes which may have a higher associated cost:

1. Large homes take more time during and after the home assessment. Does it take more effort to cut the grass on a 1 acrea country lot vs. a city home?( yes, it is an extreme case, but you get the picture )
   
2. Home with complex structures such as: different additions, multiple basements and foundations, several different types of roofs, cathedral or sloped ceilings, etc ...
3. An older century home usually requires more time to investigate.
   

These are just some examples, but some homes just require much more time.

$149.50  + GST is the Total Cost for the Initial Assessment on a Typical Home

1. Our base price has always been $299 plus the GST for a typical 2 storey family home.
2. The province of Ontario sends you a rebate cheque of 50% = $149.50.
3. Your Total Cost is $299 + HST  -  $149.50  = $149.50  + HST on the intial amount.

The 2nd Assessment ( Post-Retrofit Grant Application ) Cost Basics

1. Base price is $150 plus the GST for a standard post assessment evaluation for a typical home. Larger more complex homes may cost more.
   
2. If you live more than 50Km from our closest advisor,an additional $25 zone adjustment fee is charged for customers beyond 50Km, but under 75Km.
3. If you live more than 75Km from our closest advisor,an additional $50 zone adjustment fee is charged for customers beyond 75Km, but under 100Km.
4. If your home has been expanded or modified, the cost will be higher as we need to execute an updated pre-retrofit evaluation before submitting the grant application.

* Your total cost for the first Green Home Energy ecoEnergy assessment is $149.50 plus the HST on the initial cost ( Ottawa and many parts of Eastern Ontario ).

*The initial cost of a Green Hone Energy ecoEnergy assessment is $299 plus HST ( Ottawa and many parts of Eastern Ontario ), prices may vary for locations outside of of our core service area. On notification that a qualifying assessment has been completed, the Province of Ontario reimburses you, the homeowner, 50 per cent of the cost of this first assessment up to $150.

When you've completed your home improvements, you will need to schedule a follow up assessment in which your home will be assessed to document and verify improvements. Green Home Energy will fill out all the necessary grant application forms. The cost of the re-assessment is $150.00 plus HST  (prices may vary for locations outside of of our core service area ).

*Remember that these costs are for typical 2 storey family homes ( typically up to 2500 square feet.) A   surcharge may apply if the home is larger, more complex or higher than 2 storeys.

* Standard Prices reflect ecoEnergy assessments for standard typical residential homes up to 2 storeys. An adjustment may applicable if your home is larger and/or more complex since a signficant amount of extra time will be required to complete the evaluation. Our local service price for standard typical residential homes up to 2 storeys is $299 and covers a 50Km radius from the energy Advisors home base. An additional $25 zone adjustment fee is charged for customers beyond 50Km, but under 75Km. An additional $50 zone adjustment fee fee is charged for customers beyond 75Km, but under 100Km.
